Pizza with French fries? You betcha!

Here in the U.S., where fries are traditionally served with burgers and sandwiches, the notion of a classic Italian pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and patatine fritte (fried potatoes) may seem a bit strange.

But Italian kids just love their pizza like that and nearly every family-oriented pizzeria offers pizza topped with fries.

When topped solely with fries, it’s called an ollandese, a “Dutch” pizza.

If you add cocktail hotdogs, it’s called a viennese, a Vienna-style pizza.
