It’s made from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the province of Asti (Piedmont, Italy), at the foot of Italian Alps.

With bright wild berry and red fruit flavors, very little tannin, and lip-smacking acidity, Barbera is considered by many to be one of Italy’s greatest “food-friendly” wines. It’s fresh and clean and its naturally low alcohol is perfectly balanced by the genuine fruit of the Barbera grape.

While Sangiovese — the grape used together with Merlot in our Mazzoni Toscana Rosso IGT — is the favored “food” wine of Central Italy, Barbera is the preferred grape at the tables of Northern Italians: From Venice to Milan, from Turin to Trieste, you’ll find Barbera in the glasses of true Italian food lovers.
